Reports indicated a total student enrollment of 491 at Lake Ridge Elementary in 2024-25. Multiracial students accounted for 2% of the total population, making this group the second least-represented at the school.

Lake Ridge Elementary belongs to the Clayton County School District, which is managed from Jonesboro.

The National Center for Education Statistics reported public school enrollment in Georgia at approximately 36.4% Black, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native and 0.1% Pacific Islander.

Chronic absenteeism remains a significant concern in Georgia, where 20.7% of students missed at least 10% of school days in 2024, the Georgia Department of Education found. The department has responded with a statewide initiative that features a real-time attendance dashboard, public awareness activities, and targeted assistance for high-need districts to improve daily attendance.

In 2025, state legislation revised attendance laws to prohibit expulsion based solely on absenteeism. The updates also introduced new reporting requirements and aligned with programs offering alternate routes to diploma completion.

As of 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio was around 14:1, which is lower than the national ratio of 15:1.
