2023-24 School Year: What was most represented ethnicity in Clayton County School District?

The majority of students in Clayton County School District were African American in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Among the 49,308 students attending Clayton County schools, 68% were African American. Hispanic students were the second most common ethnicity, making up 25% of Clayton County student body.

In the previous school year, African American students were also the most common ethnicity in Clayton County School District, representing 68% of the student body.

In the 2023-24 school year, the total number of students enrolled in school districts in the county dropped 2.4% when compared to the previous year.

Clayton County School District, the only school district in the county, has a main office in Jonesboro.
