In the 2024-25 school year, Starrs Mill High School had 67 Asian students enrolled, unchanged from the prior year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.
Starrs Mill High School’s total enrollment reached 1,343 students in 2024-25. Asian students comprised 5% of enrollment, the school’s lowest-represented group.
The campus operates within Fayette County School District, which is overseen from Fayetteville.

The National Center for Education Statistics reports that public school enrollment in Georgia included about 36.4% Black students, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.1% Pacific Islander.
The Georgia Department of Education identified chronic absenteeism as a continuing challenge after the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024. To address the issue, GaDOE has begun a statewide effort featuring a real-time attendance dashboard, a public awareness campaign, and focused support for districts most affected to improve attendance rates.
Georgia lawmakers passed legislation in 2025 amending school attendance rules, prohibiting expulsions for absenteeism alone and introducing new reporting obligations as well as updated programs for alternative diploma completion.
By 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio was approximately 14:1, a figure stronger than the national average of 15:1.
