Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell has been named the team’s club winner for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, recognizing his contributions to the Atlanta community.
Despite his achievements off the field, Terrell has yet to be selected for the NFL Pro Bowl since joining the league as a first-round pick. Voting for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games is now open, and Terrell’s performance this season could make him a strong candidate.
Terrell has been targeted only 35 times through Week 13, which is the fewest among NFC cornerbacks with at least 300 coverage snaps. He leads that group in fewest receptions allowed (20) and yards allowed (200). His average of 0.6 yards per snap in coverage ties for the lowest in the conference.
He is also one of only two NFC corners with at least 300 coverage snaps who have not allowed a touchdown this season. In fact, he has played more coverage snaps than any other NFC corner without giving up a touchdown.
One highlight from Terrell’s season was his performance in Atlanta’s Week 6 win over the Buffalo Bills. In that game, he limited Buffalo receiver Keon Coleman to just two catches for eight yards on four targets and broke up two passes.
Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney said: “I love going against A.J. He’s a dominant player. He does make it very difficult.”
