The Atlanta Dream announced on April 11 that it has re-signed Allisha Gray, Brionna Jones, Jordin Canada, Naz Hillmon and Rhyne Howard, keeping the core group that led the team to a record-setting season in 2025. The move secures several top players as the franchise prepares for another championship run.
This development is significant for both the team and its fans as it ensures continuity and strengthens Atlanta’s position among leading teams in the Women’s National Basketball Association. The signings also reflect a commitment to maintaining a high standard of performance.
Dream General Manager Dan Padover said, “This is a group that believes in Atlanta, believes in each other and is united in the pursuit of a championship. Allisha, Brionna, Jordin, Naz and Rhyne represent the standard we are building here in Atlanta; talented, unselfish and fully committed to winning. Their decision to continue building together, in this city and with each other, speaks to their belief in our vision and culture—one built to win, with great players and even better people.”
The five returning players played key roles during the team’s historic 2025 campaign when Atlanta achieved its best-ever marks with 30 wins and a .682 winning percentage. Head Coach Karl Smesko said: “These players have established the standard for Atlanta Dream basketball. Their work ethic, competitiveness and belief in one another drive everything we do. We’re excited to continue building with this group.”
According to the official website, Atlanta remains an important part of the WNBA while also focusing on empowering girls through basketball education programs and community initiatives such as backpack drives supporting local students. The team serves communities across the Southeast region according to its official site.
Ownership partners include Larry Gottesdiener, Suzanne Abair and Renee Montgomery according to official information. The Dream will begin its new season at home on May 17 against last year’s champions at State Farm Arena.
