Atlanta Dream releases full schedule for anticipated WNBA regular season

The Atlanta Dream has released its 2026 regular season schedule, announcing a 44-game lineup that features new league opponents and several high-profile matchups. The team will start the season on the road against the Minnesota Lynx on May 10, followed by a game with the Dallas Wings on May 12. The home opener is scheduled for May 17 against last year’s WNBA champions, the Las Vegas Aces, at Gateway Center Arena.

The opening homestand includes games against teams led by notable players such as A’ja Wilson of Las Vegas and Paige Bueckers of Dallas. The stretch concludes with a matchup against Phoenix Mercury, last season’s WNBA Finals runner-up.

Last season marked significant progress for the Dream, who finished with a franchise-best record of 30–14 and secured the No. 3 seed in the playoffs. It was their highest winning percentage to date and saw head coach Karl Smesko set a WNBA record for most wins by a first-year head coach. Three players from Atlanta earned All-Star selections, and playoff basketball returned to Atlanta for the first time since 2018.

“One of the most rewarding parts of last season was the connection between our team and our fans,” said Smesko. “There’s nothing like playing in front of the best fans in the WNBA, and we can’t wait to be back competing for them every night in 2026.”

This year’s schedule also includes participation in the Commissioner’s Cup presented by Coinbase starting June 2. During Cup play, Atlanta will host Connecticut, Washington, and New York from the Eastern Conference before concluding with a final on June 30.

A key rematch is set for June 20 when Atlanta hosts Indiana Fever following their playoff series last year; Caitlin Clark leads Indiana this season. Another notable home game against Indiana is scheduled for August 16.

The league welcomes two expansion teams: Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo. Atlanta fans will see these new teams at home when Toronto visits on June 22 and Portland arrives July 11.

In July, Atlanta will have its longest homestand featuring four consecutive games—including contests against Golden State (July 4), Seattle, Portland, and Los Angeles—before another four-game homestand after an international break for FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup play between August and September.

After competition pauses on August 30 due to international events, play resumes September 17; Atlanta closes out its regular season with two away games at New York Liberty.

The WNBA All-Star break takes place July 24–27 in Chicago.

The video uses MARTA as its setting to reveal each opponent along stops through an authentic city narrative.

“Since 2009, the Dream has produced 12 WNBA All-Stars, earned 11 playoff bids and made three WNBA Finals appearances,” according to information provided by the organization. For further details about schedules or ticketing options visit https://dream.wnba.com/.
