This update gives fans and team followers a first look at how the new players will be represented on the field as they join the roster. None of the drafted players will keep their college numbers, meaning each will begin his professional career with a new identity in terms of jersey digits.
The Falcons’ draft picks and their assigned numbers are as follows: cornerback Avieon Terrell will wear No. 12, wide receiver Zachariah Branch is set to don No. 17, linebacker Kendal Daniels has been given No. 53, linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. takes No. 56, offensive tackle Ethan Onianwa receives No. 75, and defensive tackle Anterio Thompson will wear No. 98.
Terrell previously wore No. 8 at Clemson University, following in his older brother A.J.’s footsteps at that school; Branch had worn No.1 at both Southern California and Georgia; Daniels was known for wearing No.5 during his time at Oklahoma State and Oklahoma; Perkins alternated between Nos.4, 7 and 40 while playing for Louisiana State University; Onianwa wore number 78 while playing for Rice University and Ohio State University; Thompson wore number 56 at Washington.
