The Atlanta Falcons announced on Apr. 1 the hiring of Jeff Scott as their new assistant general manager.

Scott joins the team after five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he most recently served as vice president of football operations before moving to Atlanta. His time with the Eagles included roles as senior pro scout and director of football operations. The Eagles made the postseason every year during Scott’s tenure, reaching two Super Bowls and winning a championship in 2024. Their regular season win total since 2021 is second only to the Buffalo Bills, according to information from the team.

General manager Ian Cunningham said, “First and foremost, this is a relationship business. I want to thank Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles for granting permission to allow Jeff the opportunity to take on this role and advance his career. We are thrilled to have Jeff become a member of our team.” Cunningham added, “While Jeff and I worked together in Philadelphia for a short period of time, I quickly realized he is a man of integrity, he has a high degree of attention to detail and discipline, while always treating everyone with respect. His values align with ours, as does his mission to help build a team that consistently competes for championships. Jeff brings a breadth of experience across all football operations and a keen eye for talent. We want to welcome Jeff, Rachel, and Alivia to Atlanta.”

During his career before joining Philadelphia in 2021, Scott held several positions within Washington’s organization starting in 2012—including salary cap intern, scouting intern, player personnel assistant, pro scout from 2014-17, director of football strategy/scout in 2018 where he provided advanced opponent analysis each week along with player evaluations for free agency and drafts—and later became assistant director of pro scouting/advance coordinator until leaving for Philadelphia.

The Falcons compete in the National Football League’s NFC South division according to their official website. The franchise began play as an expansion team in 1965 according to their official website and is based in Atlanta, Georgia according to their official website. The club reached its first Super Bowl appearance in 1998 followed by another trip in 2016 according to their official website. Freddie the Falcon serves as mascot according to their official website.

Scott’s hiring continues an offseason marked by key personnel changes including Cunningham’s own arrival as general manager along with head coach Kevin Stefanski and president Matt Ryan.
