Bijan Robinson said on Apr. 8 that he is focused on improving every aspect of his game as he enters his fourth year with the Atlanta Falcons. After a record-setting season in which he became one of the top all-purpose players in NFL history, Robinson emphasized that personal achievements are not enough without team success.
Robinson’s determination to improve comes after a year where he led the league in all-purpose yards and was a finalist for Offensive Player of the Year. Despite these accomplishments, Robinson said, “But I am like, ‘Cool, but it wasn’t good enough because we didn’t accomplish what we wanted to accomplish.'” He added that his goals remain unchanged: “Like I say every year, I am just trying to be better than the last year, in all aspects of my game…even when it comes to my goals on the field, off the field.”
To prepare for another demanding season with Atlanta, Robinson has continued training with San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey during the offseason. He credited McCaffrey’s approach for helping him stay healthy throughout last season and feels ready for more challenges ahead. “We put in work, but we really do take care of our bodies,” Robinson said about their sessions together.
The Atlanta Falcons compete in the National Football League’s NFC South division and are based in Atlanta, Georgia according to their official website. The team began as an expansion franchise in 1965 and has reached the Super Bowl twice—in 1998 and again in 2016 according to their official website. Freddie the Falcon serves as their mascot according to their official website.
As a veteran leader now entering his prime years with Atlanta, Robinson expressed optimism about both his physical condition and leadership role within the team. “Me being here for now going on my fourth year and me now being a veteran leader to these guys…I really feel like this is the best I have felt my whole time being here,” he said.
