Clayton County announces advanced voting for June 16 primary runoff election

Clayton County officials announced on June 1 that the Primary Runoff Election will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Residents are able to participate in advanced voting from Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12.

Advanced voting locations will be open each day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The designated sites for early voting include the Election & Registration Office at 121 S. McDonough St., Jonesboro; Morrow City Hall at 1500 Morrow Rd., Morrow; Virginia Gray Recreation Center at 1475 E. Fayetteville Rd., Riverdale; Carl Rhodenizer Recreation Center at 3499 Rex Rd., Rex; Lake Spivey Recreation Center at 2300 Walt Stephens Rd., Jonesboro; Forest Park Senior Center at 5087 Park Ave., Forest Park; and South Clayton Recreation Center at 1837 McDonough Rd., Hampton.

In related context, enrollment in Clayton County schools dropped by approximately 2.5% during the most recent school year, with a total of about 61,644 students enrolled, according to the Georgia Department of Education. Black students made up the largest ethnic group in county schools at about 68%, followed by Hispanic students representing roughly one-quarter of enrollment. Multiracial students accounted for around three percent of the student body while white students comprised two percent, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

The county continues preparations for election day as residents utilize early voting opportunities across multiple community centers.
