Clayton County announced on Apr. 15 that it will hold an in-person workshop called “How to Do Business with Clayton County” on May 5 at the Lake Spivey Recreation Center in Jonesboro, Georgia. The event is organized by the Clayton County Central Services Department and aims to inform both the business community and the public about opportunities and procedures for doing business with the county.
The workshop is designed to provide an overview of essential topics such as obtaining a business license, certifications, contracting opportunities, vendor registration, and understanding the procurement process. Organizers said registration is required for attendance and provided a link for sign-up: https://tinyurl.com/dajrr32n.
This initiative comes at a time when demographic data shows changes within Clayton County schools. Enrollment dropped by 2.5% in the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year according to state education data. The total number of students enrolled during that period was reported as 61,644 by official sources.
The student population reflects significant diversity: Black students comprised the largest group at 68%, followed by Hispanic students at 24%. Multiracial students made up about 3%, while White students represented only about 2% of enrollment according to state statistics.
As local businesses look for ways to engage with county government and support services amid shifting demographics, workshops like this aim to strengthen connections between officials and residents. Further details about participation are available through Clayton County’s official communication channels.
