Clayton County hosts Cookies & Canvas event for neurodiverse adults

The Virginia Burton Gray Recreation Center will host a Cookies & Canvas event on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The event is open to the neurodiverse community and welcomes individuals aged 21 and older. Attendees can participate in painting and drawing activities while enjoying sweet treats in an inclusive environment.

According to the organizers, “Enjoy a relaxing afternoon of painting and drawing, sweet treats, and good vibes in a welcoming space designed for our neurodiverse community. This event is free to attend and open to individuals ages 21 and older.”

The event takes place at 1475 E. Fayetteville Rd., Riverdale, GA 30296. Registration is required for participation.

Recent data show that enrollment at Clayton County schools dropped by 2.5% during the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year, with a total enrollment of 61,644 students in that period (https://www.gadoe.org/). Additionally, white students made up just two percent of the student body within Clayton County schools during that time (https://www.gadoe.org/).
