Clayton County offices to close January 1 for New Year’s Day

All Clayton County Board of Commissioners Administrative Offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in observance of the New Year holiday.

“Happy New Year!” the county announced.

The closure affects administrative services provided by the county government. Residents are advised to plan accordingly for any services they may need around this date.

In related news, Clayton County schools saw a decrease in enrollment by 2.5% during the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year, according to data from the Georgia Department of Education (https://www.gadoe.org/). The total number of students enrolled was 61,644 for that academic year (https://www.gadoe.org/). White students made up only 2% of the student population in Clayton County schools during this period (https://www.gadoe.org/).
