The Office of Digital Equity announced on Mar. 9 that it will host a free Introduction to A.I. and ChatGPT Training session on March 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Virginia Burton Gray Recreation Center in Riverdale, Georgia. The event is open to beginners and those seeking to improve their skills in conversational artificial intelligence.
The training aims to help participants understand the basics of conversational AI, use ChatGPT for different applications, develop effective prompts, enhance user engagement, and troubleshoot common issues. Organizers say the course is designed to equip attendees with practical tools for using AI in various projects.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops; however, computers will also be available at the venue. Registration is required due to limited space.
This initiative comes as Clayton County schools continue to serve a diverse student population. Black students made up the largest group at 68% of the county’s student body during the 2022-23 school year according to data from the Georgia Department of Education. Hispanic students were the second most represented group at 24%, while multiracial students accounted for 3%. White students were the least represented ethnic group at just 2% of enrollment during that period according to state data.
Overall enrollment in Clayton County schools dropped by 2.5% in the 2022-23 school year compared with the previous year as reported by state education officials. The total number of enrolled students was recorded at 61,644 for that academic year according to official figures.
Organizers hope that offering digital skills training such as this AI workshop will support community members as technology becomes increasingly important in education and daily life.
