The Office of Digital Equity announced on June 2 that it will hold a free Navigating Technology Training session for Clayton County residents on Tuesday, June 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Forest Park Senior Center, located at 5087 Park Ave, Forest Park, GA.
The training is designed to help participants learn the basics of using personal computers, laptops, Apple iPhones and iPads. The course will also provide tips on protecting digital identity. Organizers say the event will be hands-on and encourage attendees to bring their own devices. Registration is required due to limited space.
According to the announcement, “This course will cover the basics of navigating your PC, laptop, Apple iPhone and Apple iPad, as well as provide you with tips on protecting your digital identity.” The Office of Digital Equity stated that registration can be completed through its website.
Enrollment in Clayton County schools dropped by 2.5% in the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year; total enrollment was reported at 61,644 students during that period, according to the Georgia Department of Education. Black students comprised the largest group within county schools at 68%, followed by Hispanic students at 24%. Multiracial students made up 3% and white students accounted for about 2% of enrollment during that time period, according to the Georgia Department of Education.
Registration for Navigating Technology Training is now open and interested participants are encouraged to sign up early.
