Tuition for Georgia residents attending Southern Crescent Technical College did not change during the 2022-23 school year, as revealed by recent reports, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Residents of Georgia paid $3,126 to enroll at the two-year public college in both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years.

Non-resident students faced tuition costs 76.8% higher than those for residents in 2022-23, amounting to $5,526, which was consistent with the previous academic year’s rate.

Approximately 99% of the undergraduate student body at the institution are Georgia residents, while about 1% come from other states.

Records indicate that 99% of full-time freshmen at Southern Crescent Technical College in 2022-23 received some form of financial aid. A total of 257 students were awarded grants or scholarships worth $1.8 million, and 25 students secured loans exceeding $143,465.

Across the entire undergraduate population, 3,698 students benefited from grants or scholarships totaling $23.4 million, while 591 students borrowed $4.1 million in federal student loans.

Undergraduate education costs have seen a significant increase over the past few decades. Data shows a 169% rise in the average total cost, including tuition, fees, room, and board, between 1980 and 2020.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
