District 3 townhall set for January as commissioner seeks community input

Residents of Clayton County’s District 3 are invited to participate in a community townhall meeting hosted by Commissioner Tashé Allen on January 27, 2026. The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the South Clayton Recreation Center, located at 1837 McDonough Rd., Hampton, GA 30228.

The townhall aims to inform attendees about new initiatives in District 3 and provide a platform for residents to share their ideas and connect with neighbors. Those unable to attend in person can join the meeting online by registering in advance for the webinar.

“Join Commissioner Tashé Allen for the District 3 Community Townhall Meeting on Tues., Jan. 27, 2026, from 6:00 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. at South Clayton Recreation Center,” according to organizers. “Discover new initiatives, share your ideas, and connect with neighbors as we collaborate to enhance District 3. Recent data shows that enrollment at Clayton County schools declined by 2.5% during the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year (https://www.gadoe.org/). The total number of students enrolled was reported as 61,644 for that academic year (https://www.gadoe.org/). In addition, white students represented only about two percent of the student population during this period (https://www.gadoe.org/).
