The Atlanta Falcons have made several roster changes ahead of their Week 14 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
On Saturday, the team placed safety DeMarcco Hellams on injured reserve. Hellams has been sidelined with a hamstring injury and did not participate in any practices this week. He played 28 snaps during last Sunday’s loss to the New York Jets and appeared in 11 games this season, mainly contributing on special teams with 10 tackles and a fumble recovery.
To fill the open roster spot, the Falcons signed wide receiver Deven Thompkins from their practice squad. Thompkins has already been elevated twice this season, including appearances against both the Jets and in a Week 6 win over the Buffalo Bills. In those games, he caught two passes for 23 yards and added one rush for five yards.
Additionally, cornerback C.J. Henderson was elevated from the practice squad under standard procedures. Henderson has not yet played in a game this season but brings experience from previous years, having started 32 times in 49 games since 2022.
NFL rules allow each team to elevate up to two players from the practice squad for each game day, with a maximum of three elevations per player per season before they must be signed to the active roster.
The Falcons are scheduled to face the Seahawks on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
