The Atlanta Falcons commenced their 2025 Organized Team Activities (OTAs) at IBM Performance Field, marking the first practice of the offseason where both rookies and veterans participated. Attendance was not mandatory, and some notable players were absent.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins, who serves as Atlanta’s backup, was among those not present. Other key players missing included tight end Kyle Pitts Sr., wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud III, linebackers Troy Andersen and Bralen Trice, right tackle Kaleb McGary, and defensive lineman Morgan Fox. Head coach Raheem Morris provided an update on Trice, stating he is at the facility recovering from a torn ACL.

All five of the Falcons’ draft picks attended the session. Edge rusher Jalon Walker and defensive back Billy Bowman Jr. were given first-team reps during 11-on-11 drills. James Pearce Jr., another edge rusher, did not participate in these drills but engaged in other exercises.

Safety Jessie Bates III maintained his starting position while Jordan Fuller and Kevin King rotated alongside him during team drills. Fuller joined as a free agent this offseason, while King has experience playing both cornerback and safety.

Ryan Neuzil participated fully in practice despite not officially re-signing with the team yet. He took his usual place as starting center with familiar teammates on either side of him on the offensive line.

Michael Penix Jr., practicing as starting quarterback for the first time, showed mixed results during 11-on-11 work. KhaDarel Hodge filled in for McCloud with the first-team offense and wore a new jersey number this year.

Inside linebacker Divine Deablo impressed by breaking up a pass intended for Drake London during practice sessions.

The Falcons experimented with various rotations on defense to implement their new attack-style front strategy effectively. The initial lineup included Zach Harrison and David Onyemata among others.

Kickers Younghoe Koo and Lenny Krieg practiced alongside specialists after Koo confirmed recovery from last season’s hip injury that placed him on injured reserve.

Several players took turns as kickoff returners due to changes in touchback rules aiming to increase live returns this season.
