For the first time in ten years, the Atlanta Falcons will start a season without Grady Jarrett on their defensive line. This marks a significant transition for the team’s defensive front.

The team will see familiar faces taking on new responsibilities and roles. The interior group is expected to play a crucial role this season.

Position coaches Nate Ollie and John Timu are overseeing returning starter David Onyemata and newcomer Morgan Fox. Other players include Simeon Barrow Jr., Brandon Dorlus, Ta’Quon Graham, Zach Harrison, LaCale London, Ruke Orhorhoro, and Kentavius Street. Offseason departures include Grady Jarrett, Eddie Goldman, Demone Harris, and James Smith-Williams.

Three key questions arise regarding Atlanta’s defensive line:

1. Are young players ready for prominent roles? Rookies Ruke Orhorhoro and Brandon Dorlus are set to take on larger roles after limited action last year due to strategic decisions and injuries.

2. Can Zach Harrison become a defense x-factor? With many young additions to the defense, Harrison might emerge as a critical player if he continues developing his skills.

3. Who will anchor the middle of the line? David Onyemata is expected to play a central role but may require additional support given his lighter frame compared to previous player Eddie Goldman.

As training camp approaches, these questions highlight areas of focus for the Falcons’ defensive strategy.
