The Atlanta Falcons have released their initial injury report ahead of the 2025 NFL season opener. Wide receiver Darnell Mooney, who was sidelined for most of training camp due to a shoulder injury, is listed as “day-to-day” by head coach Raheem Morris. Mooney participated in practice on a limited basis Wednesday as the team began preparing for their upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“I never worry about his conditioning, but just the overall wear and tear of it all, all those type of things dealing with performance with a receiver, with a skilled athlete like that,” Morris said Monday. “I don’t know if anybody’s ever 100% in the National Football League, so you don’t want to say that, but it’s always about how can he best perform? Can he help us win this football game without furthering any other issues?”

The injury report also notes two players who did not participate in Wednesday’s practice: safety DeMarcco Hellams (hamstring) and offensive lineman Jack Nelson (calf), both dealing with soft tissue injuries. Cornerback Clark Phillips III was listed as having limited participation due to a rib issue.

No players were listed as full participants on Wednesday’s report.
