The Atlanta Falcons are preparing to face the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football, with several key updates coming out of Flowery Branch this week. The team has highlighted player achievements, roster changes, and insights from inside the locker room ahead of their prime-time matchup.
Running back Bijan Robinson was selected for his second Pro Bowl Games, while offensive lineman Chris Lindstrom earned his fourth selection. Falcons head coach Raheem Morris praised Robinson’s impact on and off the field: “Bijan Robinson is absolutely a phenomenal player,” Morris said last Sunday. “I’ve been calling him the best player in football all year. Arguably I got a lot of love for that guy and what he brings to a football team, not just as a player but as a human on the field and off the field. Everything that we ask from our players and what a Falcon looks like is Bijan Robinson.”
Morris also spoke about Lindstrom’s leadership: “There were weeks that (Lindstrom) couldn’t quite practice full and do all the things that he’s capable of doing during a practice week, and he did everything for his football team to go out there and play and finish these games and play these games. And he continues to do it. The mentality, the tough guy, the attitude, the swagger — everything that you talk about from being an offensive lineman and a leader and a captain for our football team, he’s exemplified that at a very high level.”
Tight end Kyle Pitts and cornerback A.J. Terrell were named alternates for this year’s Pro Bowl Games.
On the injury front, Clark Phillips III and Sam Roberts have begun their 21-day window to return from injured reserve. Other notable updates include James Pearce Jr.’s limited participation due to a neck injury (Dec. 15), Kyle Pitts and Ruke Orhorhoro being added to reports (Dec. 26), and Drake London listed as questionable for Monday night’s game (Dec. 27).
Falcons head coach Raheem Morris reflected on lessons learned during his time with the Rams organization under Sean McVay’s leadership: “Obviously, (I have) respect for Sean and all the stuff that he’s done out there,” Morris said. “And it’s hard to say Sean. I think it’s so well-rounded. You’re talking about Les (Snead). You’re talking about Tony (Pastoors). You’re talking about ownership. You’re talking about Reggie Scott. You’re talking about all-hands-on-deck mentality with when it comes to all those things.”
As they approach Week 17, Atlanta will look to build on recent milestones:
– The Falcons are currently 3-1 in prime-time games this season; another win would tie their record for most prime-time victories in one season.
– Last Sunday against Arizona, Atlanta recorded its 50th sack of the season—only their second time reaching this mark since 1997.
– Tight end Kyle Pitts has achieved 395 receiving yards over his last four games—a franchise record among tight ends—and tied another record with four touchdowns across two consecutive games.
The upcoming game against one of NFC’s top teams will be crucial as Atlanta aims to continue its strong performance under national attention.
