For the second consecutive day, Atlanta Falcons safety DeMarcco Hellams and offensive tackle Jack Nelson missed practice as the team prepares for its Week 1 matchup against Tampa Bay. Both players are dealing with soft tissue injuries, which may lead the Falcons to consider elevating additional support from the practice squad ahead of Saturday.

Wide receiver Darnell Mooney was a limited participant in Thursday’s session due to a shoulder injury. Mooney told reporters he expects to be a “game-time decision” for Sunday’s opener. Terrin Waack reported on X/Twitter that “He feels good, though. It was his right shoulder that he injured; same as last year.”

Cornerback A.J. Terrell and wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud were also listed as limited participants but were noted as resting rather than injured. The Falcons have regularly managed player workloads under head coach Raheem Morris since his arrival last season, often listing key contributors such as David Onyemata, Grady Jarrett, Jake Matthews, and Kaleb McGary as resting players during weekly injury reports.

Further updates on player availability are expected when Friday’s game report is released.
