As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, South Atlanta News has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Clayton State University. This request seeks detailed information concerning the university’s current Chinese National students.

The specific records requested under the Georgia Open Records Act § 50.18.70 et seq. include:

2. Documents or lists detailing scholarships received by current Chinese National students, including the amount and source of each scholarship.

3. A list of recipients of any scholarships granted by affiliates of the Chinese Scholarship Council, unless this information is already covered in the previous request.

4. Policies or procedures outlining how the university monitors students, including Chinese Nationals, to protect its Intellectual Property and other confidential information.

This request was made on behalf of South Atlanta News and The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting transparency within governmental agencies through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws.
