Total enrollment at Forest Park High School stood at 1,698 for 2024-25. Hispanic students accounted for 52% of this total, making them the predominant group at the school.

The school, part of Clayton County School District, is situated in Jonesboro, where the district’s central office is located.

With 882 Hispanic students enrolled for 2024-25, Forest Park High School had the largest Hispanic student population among the 65 schools in the Clayton County School District.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, public school enrollment in Georgia was roughly 36.4% Black, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.1% Pacific Islander.

Chronic absenteeism continues to challenge Georgia schools in the wake of the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days during 2024, per the Georgia Department of Education. The agency responded with a statewide effort including a real-time attendance dashboard, awareness campaigns, and focused support for high-need districts to improve attendance rates.

In 2025, Georgia legislators amended attendance laws to prohibit expulsions solely for absenteeism. The update also includes added data reporting and coordinates with programs offering alternative diploma options.

By 2026, Georgia’s student-teacher ratio averaged about 14:1, which is lower than the national average of 15:1.
