Gardner–Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs, with former Starr’s Mill High standout Thad Ector on the roster, earned a 13-6 victory over the UNC Asheville Bulldogs in an NCAA Division I baseball game Thursday, April 2, at 2 p.m.

The matchup took place at Greenwood Baseball Field and was the teams’ opening contest against each other for the season.

Ector went 1-for-3 at the plate, drew a walk and stranded two runners.

The Runnin’ Bulldogs are set to face the Bulldogs again on Friday, April 3, at Greenwood Baseball Field.
