Fayette County had three gas stations selling regular gas at the lowest price of $2.49 per gallon during the week ending Jan. 31, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
The average reported price of regular gas across the county was $2.71 per gallon.
Of the 48 reported gas stations in cities within Fayette County, 39 offered regular gas.
The average reported price for a gallon of regular gas in Georgia was $2.62, down from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
