The Office of Digital Equity announced on Apr. 13 that it will host a free Introduction to LinkedIn Training session on Friday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Clayton County Community Services Authority Inc. Child Development Center in Forest Park.

The event aims to help participants learn how to use the LinkedIn platform for job searches, building professional relationships, and developing career skills. Organizers say the training will be hands-on and encourage attendees to bring their own devices, though laptops will also be provided if needed. Registration is required for attendance through an online form.

This initiative comes as Clayton County schools have experienced changes in student enrollment and demographics in recent years. Enrollment dropped by 2.5% during the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year, according to data from the Georgia Department of Education. The total number of students enrolled was reported as 61,644 for that academic year according to official figures.

Demographic information shows that Black students made up the largest group within Clayton County schools at 68%, while Hispanic students represented about 24% as noted by state education data. Multiracial students accounted for approximately 3% of enrollment and White students were the least represented at just over 2% based on available statistics.

The Office of Digital Equity’s training session seeks to provide community members with digital skills that could support their educational or professional goals amid these changing local trends.
