On Saturday, April 5, former Whitewater High School standout Makayla Coffield’s current college team, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, lost 3-0 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Syracuse Orange.
The game took place at Shirley Clements Mewborn Field. This was their third matchup against the Orange this season.

The Atlanta Falcons have signed veteran kicker Nick Folk after using multiple kickers last season. Folk brings extensive experience and a strong track record in field goal accuracy.
The Atlanta Falcons have re-signed defensive tackle LaCale London following his contributions last season. London recorded five sacks and started five games for Atlanta in 2025. The team competes in the NFC South division and has reached two Super Bowls.
The Atlanta Falcons have signed defensive end Cameron Thomas as a free agent. Thomas reunites with head coach Kevin Stefanski after previously working together with the Cleveland Browns.
