Clayton County officials announced on Apr. 16 that tickets are now available for Senior Prom Night, an event for adults aged 55 and older, scheduled for Friday, May 22 at the Virginia Gray Recreation Center in Riverdale.

The event offers an opportunity for older residents to gather and celebrate with a black-tie affair. Organizers say the evening will feature a gold carpet entrance, photo opportunities upon arrival, a catered dinner, refreshments, music, and dancing. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Clayton County schools have seen changes in their student population recently. Enrollment dropped by 2.5% during the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year according to data from the Georgia Department of Education. In total, Clayton County schools enrolled 61,644 students during that period according to state education statistics.

Demographic data shows that Black students made up the largest portion of the student body at 68%, while Hispanic students represented about 24%. Multiracial students accounted for approximately 3%, and White students were among the least represented groups at just under two percent as reported by official sources.

The Senior Prom Night aims to provide a festive environment where community members can connect and enjoy an evening together. For more information about ticket purchases or event details, interested individuals can contact organizers at 770-603-4001.
