Councilman Hector Gutierrez started his first term in January of 2020. Since starting, he has made it his mission to increase government transparency, provide quality resources, and constantly look for ways to make Forest Park racially inclusive for all. He currently sponsors Food Truck Fridays at the Fountain on the first Friday of each month and started the Panthers in Action youth committee, where he mentors and promotes civic engagement among the youth in the City. He has also sponsored the City's first Hispanic Heritage Festival and Day of the Dead event.
