New Hope & Brogdon Road Closure

Closed

County of Fayette recently issued the following announcement.

New Hope & Brogdon Road Closure

Beginning November 29, 2021, Brogdon Road will close to thru traffic between Highway 92 North and Longview Road for a transportation SPLOST project. New Hope Road will be closed, alongside Brogdon, between Kenwood Road and Neely Road to all thru traffic beginning December 13, 2021. The intersection is scheduled to reopen by late January 2022, weather permitting, after construction is complete. During this time, all residents will have access to their homes off Brogdon and New Hope Roads via the detour route.

A single lane roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Brogdon and New Hope Roads. Construction can be a lengthy process due to inclement weather, utility relocation and/or construction around current utility lines. This improvement will reduce delay time at the intersection, decrease the number of traffic accidents at this location, and moderate drivers’ speed approaching and navigating the roundabout.

We apologize for the inconvenience this project may cause, but this work is necessary for the safety of our citizens and preservation of Fayette County’s infrastructure. Citizens are encouraged to visit the County’s webpage to gain the latest updates on all 2017 SPLOST projects: http://www.fayettecountyga.gov/splost-2017/.
