On October 10, 2022, at 2:48 p.m., Clayton County Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of Pineglen Drive, Forest Park, GA 30297 in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned a juvenile contacted police in reference a domestic dispute between the parents. Officers made contact with the female half of the dispute, and she immediately advised the male was in the kitchen getting a gun.
The officer immediately grabbed the female and pulled her to safety. The officer later learned that three juveniles were inside the home. The male subject refused to exit the home and continued to barricade himself inside. The two juveniles were eventually released. It was discovered that the third juvenile had escaped prior to police arrival.
The Clayton County SWAT Unit was activated along with our negotiators. Clayton County Police Officers continued to plea with the suspect in order to get him to exit the home. The Clayton County SWAT Unit tactically entered the residence and located the suspect, Rakesh Tagecharnd (40-year-old-male). After several hours, Mr. Tagecharnd was taken into custody for a False Imprisonment, Simple Battery, and Cruelty to Children.
