Media Advisory – Oh, No, Oh, No, Oh, No, No, No, No, No, No... Street Racers - “Purge Night Takeover”
On October 29, 2022, at 1:45 a.m., Sector 3 and 4 Morning Watch Officers were dispatched to the area of Walt Stephens Road and Highway 138 in reference to “street racers” blocking the intersection. Upon arrival, officers observed several subjects fleeing to the parked vehicles that were blocking the roadway. Officers were able to quickly apprehend several subjects without incident. During the investigation, officers learned that the event was called “Purge Night Takeover” in Clayton County. All five subjects that were taken into custody are from the Winder, GA or Logansville, GA area. The officers were also able to seize a small amount of marijuana and two handguns.
