Media Advisory – Teenager Killed During Drug and Gun Transaction  

On October 29, 2022 at 2:22 p.m., Clayton County Police Officers responded to the 8300th block of Magnolia Drive, Jonesboro, GA in reference to a person shot. Prior to officer’s arrival, relatives removed the victim, Jcori Butler (a 15-year-old male) from the scene and attempted to transport him to a local hospital, but Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services was able to intercept the vehicle and transport Jcori Bulter to the trauma center in Atlanta. Jcori Bulter succumbed to his injuries on December 8, 2022 at Grady Hospital.  

The investigation revealed Aaron Bell III (18), a 16-year-old-juvenile (now 17), a 14-year-old juvenile (now 15), Jacora Butler (18), Jailen Johnson (20), and the victim, Jcari Butler (15) were apart of two separate groups. They all agreed to meet to conduct the sell and purchase of guns and drugs.  During the transaction, a fight occurred which resulted in Jcori Butler getting shot.  

Aaron Bell III has been charged with Felony Murder and Use of Communication Device During the Commission of a Felony.  

Aaron Bell Jr. (47) has been charged with Tampering with Evidence and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon.  

Jacora Butler was charged with Felony Murder and Use of Communication Device During the Commission of Felony.  

Jailen Johnson was charged with Felony Murder and Use of Communications Device During the Commission of Felony.  

The 16-year-old juvenile (now 17) was charged with Felony Murder.  

The 14-year-old juvenile (now 15) was charged with Felony Murder.   

Four of the six suspects are now in custody. Jacora Butler and Jailen Johnson are both still outstanding and are wanted on outstanding warrants.
