Media Advisory – Need Help Identifying Vehicle in Fatal Hit and Run Crash 

On January 1, 2023, at 1:07 a.m., Clayton County Police Department responded to SR 138 and Davidson Parkway in reference to a fatal hit and run crash. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim, Michael Newberry (40-year-old-male) lying unresponsive with fatal injuries in the middle of the roadway.  

Clayton County Police Department – Specialized Traffic Accident Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating this fatal crash. We are seeking this public’s assistance with possible answers into who could’ve been involved with this fatal crash. The vehicle pictured is the vehicle that is believed to be involved in this crash. It is described as a gray Crown Victoria or a Mercury Grand Marquis. The hood of the vehicle is possibly dented.
