16-Year-Old Juvenile Arrested on Misdemeanor and Felony Charges

Sector 3 Morning Watch Supervisor Sgt. Ward has been hard at work investigating entering autos and stolen vehicle incidents that has occurred on Sector 3. Sgt. Ward was able to identify one of the juveniles that was involved in at least eight entering autos where property was damaged and items were stolen. A BOLO of that juvenile was issued to the officers in reference to that juvenile.  

On February 27, 2023, at approximately 6:00 p.m., while in the area of Flint River Road, Sector 3 Officers observed a male fitting the description of the BOLO. Officers attempted to make contact with the subject, but he ran from officers. After a brief foot chase, officers were able to apprehend the 16-year-old juvenile. After the juvenile was placed into custody, officers located 20 grams of marijuana (which was packaged for distribution) and a Beretta handgun on the juvenile’s person.  

Officers were able to make contact with the juvenile’s mother. The mother of the juvenile consented to the search of her home. During the search, officers located two key fobs belonging to a Dodge and Hyundai. Officers also recovered additional ammunition and magazines. 

The sixteen-year-old-juvenile was charged with VGCSA- Marijuana Less Than an Ounce, VGCSA-Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm by Minor, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. The Juvenile was transported to the juvenile detention facility.  

The investigation is ongoing for charges as it relates to entering autos and stolen vehicles.
