Media Advisory - Combating Human Trafficking Together
The Clayton County Police Department - Human Trafficking Unit partnered with federal, state, and local agencies on March 16, 2023 to conduct an undercover Homeland Security Human Trafficking operation that targeted victims of human & sex trafficking, pimps, persons soliciting for illegal sexual purposes, and persons seeking underaged victims for illegal sexual purposes. The coalition worked together to combat human trafficking, rescue victims, and create a safer environment for the community.
The operation consisted of police officers, investigators, special agents, doctors, attorneys, nurses, and counselors from the following agencies and organizations:
College Park Police Department
Homeland Security Investigations
Fulton County Sheriff’s Office
Georgia Bureau of Investigation
Clayton County Police Department
Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office
Forest Park Police Department
Criminal Justice Coordinating Counsel
Frontline Response
Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia
Redemption Inc.
Rape Response
Bethsaida Community Clinic with Kennesaw State University
The operation was held at an undisclosed location in the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport area. During the operation, six adult women were rescued and offered victims’ services; including food, on site medical services, counseling/therapy, and drug rehabilitation. Additionally, three adult males were detained and upon further investigation, arrested for the offenses of Soliciting for Illegal Sexual Purposes, Pimping, Drug Offenses and active criminal warrants.
The law enforcement community with its not-for-profit stakeholders will strive to combat human and sex trafficking as it continues to have a negative social and economic impact everyone.
