Media Advisory - Combating Human Trafficking Together

The Clayton County Police Department - Human Trafficking Unit partnered with federal, state, and local agencies on March 16, 2023 to conduct an undercover Homeland Security Human Trafficking operation that targeted victims of human & sex trafficking, pimps, persons soliciting for illegal sexual purposes, and persons seeking underaged victims for illegal sexual purposes.  The coalition worked together to combat human trafficking, rescue victims, and create a safer environment for the community.

The operation consisted of police officers, investigators, special agents, doctors, attorneys, nurses, and counselors from the following agencies and organizations:

College Park Police Department

Homeland Security Investigations

Fulton County Sheriff’s Office

Georgia Bureau of Investigation

Clayton County Police Department

Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office

Forest Park Police Department

Criminal Justice Coordinating Counsel

Frontline Response

Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia

Redemption Inc.

Rape Response

Bethsaida Community Clinic with Kennesaw State University

The operation was held at an undisclosed location in the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport area.  During the operation, six adult women were rescued and offered victims’ services; including food, on site medical services, counseling/therapy, and drug rehabilitation.  Additionally, three adult males were detained and upon further investigation, arrested for the offenses of Soliciting for Illegal Sexual Purposes, Pimping, Drug Offenses and active criminal warrants.

The law enforcement community with its not-for-profit stakeholders will strive to combat human and sex trafficking as it continues to have a negative social and economic impact everyone.

If you have any information related to, or suspect human and/or sex trafficking, please call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at (888) 373-7888 or your local law enforcement agency.
