4.1% of Fayette County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Fayette County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 2,375 people out of the 117,828 living in Fayette County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Fayette County has remained fairly stable compared to the 4.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Fayette County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.5%.

Of the 55,197 people who had a job during that time, 186 were employed in the Armed Forces and 55,011 belonged to the civilian labor force.
