FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – The quarterback position has largely dominated the conversation regarding the Atlanta Falcons this offseason, but attention is now shifting to other key players. The Falcons have invested valuable draft capital in some of the most exciting offensive prospects in recent years. Over the last three seasons, Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson have demonstrated their special talents.

The addition of a high-caliber quarterback in Kirk Cousins and an offensive scheme known for proficiency through the air adds excitement to what is possible. If Cousins and offensive coordinator Zac Robinson can help the trio reach new heights, the Falcons could see significant improvement.

Our writers share their thoughts on what to expect from the Falcons' offensive core this season.

Tori McElhaney believes that while Kyle Pitts may not replicate his rookie year production due to increased competition for touches, he could still see a resurgence. "Pitts is as healthy as he's been since sustaining a season-ending knee injury in his sophomore season," McElhaney notes. She emphasizes that this season is crucial for Pitts as he enters the back half of his rookie deal with expectations high due to Kirk Cousins' presence and a strong supporting cast.

Will McFadden expresses excitement about seeing Pitts and London with Cousins behind center but highlights Bijan Robinson's potential for growth. "Robinson ranked No. 12 in total touches last season... However, there is still room for improvement both within the player and within a new scheme," McFadden states. He suggests that changes in play-calling could lead to more decisive play from Robinson and more explosive plays overall.

Terrin Waack shifts focus to wide receiver Darnell Mooney, predicting a breakout year for him in 2024. Quoting wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard: "He's an excellent route runner... Great hands... I think you're going to see some unique routes from him." Waack points out that while Mooney's recent numbers have declined due to injury, he has shown potential that the Falcons hope to tap into again.

Amna Subhan forecasts a milestone year for Drake London, predicting his first 1,000-yard season under Zac Robinson's system paired with Kirk Cousins' veteran leadership. Subhan cites London's previous close calls with 1,000 yards and expects significant improvement: "(I want to) be an all-around wide receiver... I think I should," London said after minicamp practice.

The upcoming season holds much promise for these key players as they aim to elevate their performance and contribute significantly to the Falcons' success.
