The Atlanta Dream will face the Indiana Fever at State Farm Arena on August 26, aiming to surpass the attendance record set during their previous matchup. The first game saw a sold-out crowd of 17,575, marking the highest attendance for a WNBA game in Georgia.
Goodie Mob, an iconic Atlanta hip hop group, is scheduled to perform at halftime. Additionally, members of the 1996 USA Women’s Basketball Olympic Team will be present to commemorate their gold medal victory in Atlanta.
“The atmosphere inside State Farm Arena earlier this season was electric, and we can’t wait to take it to the next level in front of a record-breaking audience,” said Atlanta Dream President and COO Morgan Shaw Parker. “Everything about the evening will celebrate ‘The A’ in ways only the Dream can, including the first-ever performance at a WNBA game by Atlanta’s own Goodie Mob at halftime. We are also honored to have members of the ‘96 Women’s Olympic Team back in Atlanta. Their historic run to a gold medal gave birth to modern professional women’s basketball, and the WNBA itself, so we can’t wait to pay tribute to their legacy.”
The rematch will feature recent top draft picks Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark from the Fever and Rhyne Howard from the Dream. Allisha Gray from the Dream will also play; she recently made history by winning both the skills challenge and 3-point contest during this year's WNBA All-Star weekend.
The event will honor members of the celebrated 1996 USA Women’s Basketball Olympic Team. Known as the Women’s Dream Team, they secured a gold medal in Atlanta and played a significant role in launching professional women's basketball in America. Notable team members such as Dawn Staley, Val Ackerman, and Ruthie Bolton are expected to attend.
Tickets for this anticipated event are available through Ticketmaster at dream.wnba.com. Limited standing-room-only seats remain as tickets are projected to sell out quickly.
The game will be broadcast live on CBS affiliate WANF (Atlanta News First), Peachtree TV (WPCH), Peachtree Sports Network, and Sports Radio 92-9 The Game with Mike Conti providing commentary.
