The Atlanta Falcons conducted a walkthrough on Tuesday in preparation for their upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Due to this, the team's injury report was an estimation rather than a reflection of actual practice participation.
Inside linebacker Troy Andersen was the only player who did not take part in the walkthrough. He sustained a knee injury during last Sunday's victory over the Saints, where he delivered an impressive performance with 16 tackles and a key interception return for a touchdown. Head coach Raheem Morris stated that Andersen's recovery is "day-to-day." If Andersen is unable to play on Thursday, rookie JD Bertrand may step into the starting role alongside Kaden Elliss, as Nate Landman is currently on injured reserve. Bertrand has been primarily involved in special teams but saw limited defensive action after Andersen's injury.
To bolster their linebacker depth, the Falcons signed Rashaan Evans to the practice squad. Evans previously started 17 games for Atlanta in 2022 under Dean Pees' coaching, recording 159 tackles and two sacks.
Other players listed as limited participants due to injuries include Bijan Robinson (hamstring), Ray-Ray McCloud (ankle), and Kaleb McGary (knee). McGary missed last Sunday's game, with Storm Norton stepping in at right tackle. Norton is expected to continue in that role if McGary remains sidelined.
