The Atlanta Falcons have experienced a notable resurgence in their offensive performance over the past two weeks, aligning with a broader trend across the NFL. The team has significantly increased its yardage and points per game, achieving over 400 yards of total offense in recent games compared to just one such performance in their first four matches.

This improvement can be attributed to an increase in the number of plays executed by the Falcons' offense. In the initial weeks, they averaged only 53.8 plays per game, resulting in lower overall yardage and points. However, this figure has risen to an average of 74.5 plays in recent games, contributing to higher scores and yardage totals.

Kirk Cousins, the Falcons' quarterback, emphasized the importance of having more opportunities on the field: "I think the key is we got more at-bats," Cousins said. "We had 81 plays. We had some games this season that we've had 50-some plays, so 30 more plays. That's like another third of a game."

Atlanta's offensive strategy has evolved, showcasing versatility by excelling both in passing and running games. In Week 5, Cousins set a club record for passing yards with notable performances from receivers Drake London and Darnell Mooney. In contrast, Week 6 highlighted the team's ground game success.

The Falcons' running backs Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson have been instrumental in this success. Allgeier is known for his physical style, while Robinson is celebrated for his agility. Both players have excelled at generating yards after contact and forcing missed tackles.

According to Next Gen Stats, Allgeier averages 3.7 yards after contact per carry and ranks second among running backs with at least 50 carries this season in success rate (52.9%). Meanwhile, Robinson leads all running backs in average speed at the line of scrimmage (11.54 mph) and on carries (13.57 mph).

The Falcons face challenges ahead as they prepare to meet the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7. One focus will be leveraging their passing game to exploit Seattle's defensive strategies effectively.

Continued creativity in their run game will be essential against Seattle's defense which has shown vulnerability when facing light boxes.
