The Atlanta Falcons have released their injury report as they prepare for their Week 8 NFC South matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team is closely monitoring several players' conditions.
On Wednesday, October 23, full participation in practice was noted for offensive lineman Matthew Bergeron, who had previously left Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks due to a neck injury. Limited participation was recorded for outside linebacker Matthew Judon (rest), safety Justin Simmons (hamstring), cornerback Antonio Hamilton Sr. (back), inside linebacker Troy Andersen (knee), and inside linebacker Nate Landman (shoulder). Offensive lineman Ryan Neuzil did not participate due to a knee issue.
Head coach Raheem Morris addressed the media regarding some of these injuries before practice. He mentioned that Troy Andersen would be gradually reintroduced into practice this week to determine his availability for Sunday's game. Andersen last played in Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints, where he earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Bergeron's return to practice with the starting offensive line is a positive development for the Falcons. Kyle Hinton had stepped in at left guard after Bergeron's exit during last week's game.
A key position under observation is center, as Drew Dalman remains on injured reserve with an ankle injury. Morris did not provide a specific timeline for Dalman's return when asked on Wednesday. Backup center Ryan Neuzil's absence from practice means Matt Hennessy has taken over duties at center. Neuzil briefly exited Sunday's game but returned later; his progress will be monitored throughout the week as preparations continue for facing the Buccaneers.
