The Atlanta Falcons have announced that Drew Dalman, their starting center, has been designated to return to practice. Dalman has been on injured reserve following an ankle injury sustained during the team's Week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. During that game, he participated in 31% of the offensive snaps before Ryan Neuzil took over his position. Since then, Neuzil has been starting at center.

Dalman has played in 34 games for Atlanta since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. According to league rules, designating a player to return opens a 21-day window for activation to the 53-man roster. If not activated within this period, the player must be placed on season-ending reserve.

Head coach Raheem Morris commented on Dalman's progress, stating that he is "progressing back towards health." Morris added, "I really feel good about him. We had a couple good workouts with him, with the trainers and things of that nature, so we'll see where that goes."

In related team transactions, the Falcons have signed linebacker Tyreek Maddox-Williams to their practice squad while releasing offensive lineman Matthew Cindric from it.
