ATLANTA — Kirk Cousins' recent performance has left the Atlanta Falcons in a precarious position following their 17-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Despite outpacing the Chargers in total yardage, the Falcons' offense struggled to capitalize on opportunities, scoring only six points in the second half and failing to convert in critical red zone situations.

Cousins' recent form has been concerning. Over the last three games, he has not thrown a touchdown pass and has accumulated six interceptions and four fumbles. During this period, the Falcons have been outscored by opponents 75-36.

The team expects more from Cousins given his $180 million contract. Cousins acknowledged his need for improvement, stating postgame: "I look to myself and say, 'I have to play better.'"

Head coach Raheem Morris expressed support for Cousins despite his struggles. "That guy has carried us all season," Morris said, emphasizing that Cousins' past performances justify confidence in him moving forward.

Questions about potentially benching Cousins were met with firm denials from Morris, who reiterated: "That guy has gotten us to the point where we are 6-6, first place in the division."

As they look ahead, the Falcons remain hopeful that Cousins can regain his form from earlier this season when he led impressive victories against teams like Tampa Bay. The team's playoff aspirations hinge on an immediate turnaround as they face increasing pressure from divisional rivals.
