The Atlanta Falcons concluded their 2024 season with a 44-38 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers. With the offseason now underway, head coach Raheem Morris emphasized the need for immediate evaluation and change during his end-of-season press conference.

"Obviously disappointed for us, our organization and our fan base," Morris stated. "But our work starts today, 2025 starts today."

The Falcons finished the season with an 8-9 record, only slightly better than previous seasons under former head coach Arthur Smith. The team has struggled with consistency at quarterback, having started six different players in four years and facing another midseason change this year. This marks Atlanta's seventh consecutive losing season without a playoff appearance.

In light of these challenges, Morris stressed the importance of evaluating all aspects of the team. "We got to evaluate all of our coaches," he said. "We got to evaluate all of our players. We got to evaluate everything that we do from the whole program's standpoint."

The Falcons' coaching staff included 33 members this past season, many of whom were new hires like Morris himself. As part of their ongoing changes, Chandler Whitmer has already left his role as pass game specialist to join Indiana University as co-offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.

"There'll never be anything that's the same in the National Football League," Morris noted regarding inevitable changes within teams.

As evaluations continue, more adjustments may occur as the Falcons aim to improve for their fan base. "There's always going to be changes from all standpoints," Morris remarked on the process ahead.
