The Atlanta Falcons have decided to re-sign defensive lineman Ta'Quon Graham, according to a report by CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones. Graham has reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with the team.
Graham was initially drafted by the Falcons in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, securing the 148th overall pick. Over four seasons, he has participated in 49 games and made 16 starts. During his career, he has accumulated 84 tackles, including four for a loss, along with a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. His only sack occurred in 2023 during a game against the Carolina Panthers.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 307 pounds, Graham is known for his athletic build and exceptional arm length. New defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich appreciates these qualities as they allow Graham to play various positions on the defensive line. This versatility will be crucial for offering different defensive looks.
Graham rejoins a defensive lineup that includes players like Zach Harrison, David Onyemata, Brandon Dorlus, and Ruke Orhorhoro. The Falcons have lost veteran players Grady Jarrett and Eddie Goldman to free agency this year. With Jarrett's departure to the Chicago Bears and Goldman joining the Washington Commanders, Graham might see increased involvement in the team's rotation.
As of Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET when the new league year began, Falcons defensive linemen Demone Harris and James Smith-Williams became free agents.
