The Atlanta Falcons have confirmed the re-signing of offensive lineman Storm Norton. This move was announced by the organization on Thursday.
Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 317 pounds, Norton is preparing for his seventh NFL season and third with the Falcons. He will turn 31 before the start of the 2025 season.
Norton entered the league as an undrafted player in 2017, initially signing with the Detroit Lions. His first professional game action came in 2018 with the Minnesota Vikings, where he spent one season before joining the Los Angeles Chargers from 2020 to 2022.
In September 2023, Norton was signed by the Falcons from the New Orleans Saints' practice squad. During that season, he played in 14 games for Atlanta, starting three times. He participated in 31% of their offensive snaps and contributed to 14% of their special teams plays.
His starts during Weeks 14-16 were necessitated by Kaleb McGary's absence due to a knee injury. Last season, Norton appeared in all 17 games and started once, taking part in 11% of offensive snaps and covering 18% of special teams plays. His lone start occurred during a Week 4 victory against the Saints when he again filled in for McGary.
The Falcons are retaining nearly all members of their starting offensive line from last year, except for center Drew Dalman who has reportedly joined the Chicago Bears via free agency. The rest of their lineup includes tackle Jake Matthews, guard Matthew Bergeron, guard Chris Lindstrom, and McGary.
