Cost of college went up for all students at Southern Crescent Technical College

In-state tuition and fees rose 0.1 percent for 2018-19 at Southern Crescent Technical College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Georgia residents paid $2,842 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $2 more than the $2,840 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 75.3 percent more than residents this year, or $4,982. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 0.2 percent from $4,974 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Georgia residents.

Data shows 92 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 292 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2 million and 49 students took out student loans totaling more than $227,495.

Including all undergraduates (4,905), 4,139 students used grants or scholarships totaling $18.9 million, and 548 students took out $2.9 million in federal student loans.
